THE one we've all been waiting for - it's Gold Cup day.
It has been described as the most open Gold Cup in years and it must be said there are plenty of contenders that a case can be made for.
Here at the County Gazette, however, we are throwing our weight behind Clan Des Obeaux (9/2).
He is Somerset trained - by Paul Nicholls at Ditcheat - and jockey Harry Cobden also hails from our fair county.
Make no mistake, however, there is far more than blind parochialism in our thinking.
Clan Des Obeaux won a thrilling King George at Kempton and then strolled to victory at Ascot a month ago, so arrives in fine fettle.
Nicholls' yard has had a good Festival so far, with Frodon's win yesterday backing up Topofthegame's triumph earlier in the week, and victory in the big one would cap it off very nicely indeed.
Elsewhere today, Coeur Sublime looks very attractively priced at 20/1 in the opener at 1.30, Colin Tizzard's Rockpoint (33/1) is worth an each/way shout at 2.50 and Road To Rome (15/2) can finish off the televised races with glory in the 4.10.
Cheltenham day four tips
1.30 - Coeur Sublime (20/1 e/w)
2.10 - Whiskey Sour (11/2), Western Ryder (18/1 e/w)
2.50 - Commander of Fleet (15/2), Rockpoint (33/1 e/w)
3.30 - Clan Des Obeaux (9/2)
4.10 - Road to Rome (15/2)
4.50 - Magic Saint (9/2)
5.30 - Early Doors (9/2)
