THERE will be an extra treat for fans heading to this Sunday's Taunton Town v Manchester United Legends match, with the addition of former South Korean international Park Ji-Sung to the visitors' squad.

The United squad is in serious need of extra legs, what with Arthur Albiston (aged 61), Sammy McIlroy (64) and Frank Stapleton (62) all included.

So who better to call on than the ex-South Korea midfielder, nicknamed 'Three-Lungs Park' while at Old Trafford due to his outstanding levels of endurance and pace?

Park is also the second Champions League winner in the squad, joining reliable defender Wes Brown in attaining that honour.

The midfielder retired in 2014, after 205 appearances for United, while he also won 100 international caps and scored in three World Cups.

Taunton chairman Kevin Sturmey said: "Premier League experience is all very well, but it's no preparation for facing top Western League players like Ellis Laight, Anthony Lynch and Tony Payne.

"I'm confident our boys will give him the runaround."

Park's agent, from PR firm Ank Ltd, said that his client was looking forward to sampling some of the Wurzel's greatest hits at the match.

Rumours that Park could be joined by the Dutch pairing of Edwin van der Sar and Ruud van Nistelrooy are as yet unconfirmed.

APRIL FOOL ALERT: Well done to those of you who worked out that news of Park Ji-Sung joining the Manchester United squad was indeed an April Fool's prank.
