SOMERSET are hopeful Tom Banton will be fit to feature in Saturday's Royal London One-Day Cup final against Hampshire at Lord's.
The 20-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, who has scored two centuries and two fifties in the run to the final, retired hurt while playing for the Second XI at Taunton Vale yesterday.
Somerset head coach Jason Kerr said at the close of Tuesday's play against Warwickshire: "Tom has had a slight back spasm, so he has been assessed.
"We are not particularly concerned at this stage - a couple of days rest and he'll be fine.
"He's moving around at the minute, he's in the dressing room, so I anticipate he'll be fine."
