Bridgwater Sports drew to a close another successful campaign in the TDSFL at their recent presentation evening.

Although cup success eluded the club, it wasn’t through the lack of trying - the club finished as runners-up in two cup finals and also finishing runners-up in the league.

The club did receive some silverware, however, when they were presented with a special award by the committee of the TDSFL in recognition of their efforts to once again field three sides each week, along with their ‘excellent overall administration and the exemplary courtesy shown towards their opposition and officials’.

The club’s charity work saw them raise a considerable sum of money, £1000 of which went to PAPYRUS – a charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide in young adults.

In addition, £200 was raised for the Beacon Centre at Musgrove in support of club veteran Ashley Young’s sponsored sky dive - which he is carrying out in recognition of the treatment and support he himself needed to call upon in the recent past.

For members old and new, and especially any recent school leavers/ex-youth team players: pre-season training will begin on Tuesday, July 2, supplemented by a full schedule of friendlies.
