TAUNTON Town head of football Rob Dray has warned his team to expect a tough test from Winchester City in Saturday's FA Cup first round qualifying tie.

Winchester won their preliminary round replay 3-1 at AFC Stoneham on Tuesday night, having drawn the initial match 1-1, thanks to goals from Oliver Bailey, Jamie Barron and Ollie Griggs.

Dray and his assistant Matt Villis went to last night's game, ahead of the Peacocks' trip to Winchester's Simplyhealth City Ground on Saturday (ko 3pm).

Dray told the County Gazette: "They [Winchester] looked very dangerous, and it's a tough draw for us.

"We need to be hitting our straps early on against them."

Taunton will be missing centre-back Nick Grimes, after he was sent off at Harrow Borough last weekend, but they hope to have Jamie Price back, after the defender missed the Harrow game with a sore back.

Winchester, meanwhile, are set to have a former Taunton centre-back in their side – Keith Emmerson.

Dray added: "We're familiar with Keith, and he knows the way we set up our team."

Winchester are currently seventh in Division 1 South of the Bet Victor Southern League, having won two and drawn two so far.
