Regional League 3
Tone 33, Lovell Titans 48

THE away side started on top, taking the first quarter 7-14.

Tone were unable to find their rhythm and, with Titans’ strong defence, struggled to feed the circle.

The second half saw an improvement, with Tone losing each quarter by just one goal.

The defensive unit was solid and put pressure on Titans’ shooting circle.

Tone were more patient with the ball, allowing the attack to play the ball around and the shooters to find space in the shooting circle.

Tone were unable to catch Titans after their slow start, ending on the wrong side of a 33-48 score line.

Somerset Division 1
Paulton Vipers 37, Quantock 32

QUANTOCK had a reasonable start, losing a couple of centre passes but also managing to turn over a few themselves towards the end of the first quarter (10-14).

They continued strongly into the second quarter, building on the momentum from the first and intercepting a few balls on their way to Vipers’ shooting circle to close the gap (20-22).

An even third quarter continued similarly, with both teams manging to make turnovers (27-29).

The final quarter saw a change of shooters for Vipers; fresh legs proved difficult for Quantock’s defence and changed the momentum in the circle.

A tired Quantock struggled to match this change of pace, seeing Vipers extend their lead.
