IN-FORM Taunton Titans winger Jack Arnott has been named the England Rugby grassroots player of the month for October.

Arnott, formerly of Exeter Chiefs and Plymouth Albion, has scored six tries in three matches including a hat-trick in Friday night’s win over Clifton at the Towergate Stadium.

Titans head coach Tony Yapp said: “Jack has been excellent since coming in over the summer, both on and off the pitch.

“He is benefitting from some good work by the other guys and finishing off his chances really well.”

Reflecting on his side’s win on Friday, Yapp said: “We were under no illusions about how tough it was going to be.

“Clifton always raise their game against us and they have also had a great start to the season.

“It’s always tricky in the rain, especially with wind thrown in as well, but we were confident we’d be able to turn it round in the second half and we did so.

“We made some silly errors towards the end which allowed them to get a couple of tries back and the final scoreline flattered them a bit.”
