BLUEFLAME ABC had a highly successful first show of the boxing season last Friday.

Due to the large number of spectators at previous shows, a new larger venue was used for the first time at Wellsprings Leisure Centre and, with 500-plus in attendance, there was still the usual great atmosphere.

There were 17 bouts in total, with 16 of these having a Blueflames boxer involved, from 11-year-olds having their first bouts, Blueflames' first girl boxer, Anya Wilson, to senior boxers at 35 years of age.

In additon, Taunton’s Lewis Scutt won his 53rd bout, so there really was something for everyone.

Having a large home crowd cheering on the local boxers contributed to some great displays of boxing from the Blueflames boxers, with some brilliant performances.

Throughout the boxing season, Blueflames ABC travel across the south of the country every weekend with boxers competing at other clubs home shows.

Everyone at the club would like to thank all those who attended the show last Friday.

All money made goes back into the club and enables the Blueflames club to be one of the most active clubs in the country, competing in over 75 bouts last season, with more to come this time around.
