TAUNTON Town have announced the loan signing of forward Jake Jackson, from National League North side Gloucester City.

Jackson, 25, has joined the Peacocks until January 2, 2020, having joined Gloucester from Chippenham Town in 2018.

He has previously played for Frome Town and Yate Town.

According to Gloucester's website, he "joins Taunton to build up his match fitness and to recover from a dislocated shoulder injury".

The signing means that Peacocks boss Rob Dray has a plethora of forward options, with Jackson joining Andrew Neal, Dan Sullivan and Matt Wright in the squad, as well as youngsters Noah Coppin and Jack Rice-Lethaby, as well as another loan signing, Owen Windsor, who has come in from West Bromwich Albion.

Joe Charles, Jamie Short and Zac Smith are also attacking midfield options.

Jackson could make his Taunton debut tomorrow, as Town host Bideford in a friendly match, with admission free for all (ko 7.45pm).
