TAUNTON rugby star Richard Capstick got his Under-20 Six Nations campaign off to a perfect start at the weekend, scoring the winning try in the final minute as England defeated France in Grenoble.
Capstick, a former Taunton RFC youth player who attended Heathfield School, finished off a terrific move with the final play of the game to help England run out 29-24 winners.
England had earlier led 24-12 but France hit back with two tries, one of which was converted, to level the scores.
France were pushing for the winning try with a scrum in the England 22 as the game entered the final minute but a knock-on handed the visitors possession and they worked their way from one end of the field to the other.
Capstick was on hand to apply the finishing touch and ensure his England side, who were captained by Capstick's Exeter Chiefs teammate Sam Maunder, began their 2020 campaign with a bonus-point win.
What a game 🙌
