TAUNTON’S race meeting tomorrow will definitely go ahead, with action getting underway at 2.20pm, after the fixture was given the green light following an early morning inspection on Sunday.

The ground will be heavy, which is no surprise given the recent rainfall, but with 60 runners declared another good afternoon of National Hunt action looks to be assured.

All of the leading trainers have got horses running - including Paul Nicholls, Jonjo O’Neill, Philip Hobbs, Oliver Sherwood, David Pipe and Alan King - while leading jockeys Nick Schofield, Harry Cobden, Aidan Coleman, Tom O’Brien and Robbie Dunn and all booked to ride.

The most valuable race on the card is the Class 3 Handicap Chase worth over £8k to the winner, run over three and a half miles, going to post at 4.40pm.

The two horses expected to be in contention here are lRolling Dylan fro the Hobbs yard under O’Brien, and The Two Amigos ridden by Matt Griffiths.

Racegoers are reminded that a courtesy coach service departs from the main entrance to Taunton Railway Station (Platform 5) 90 minutes ahead of the first race, returning half an hour after the start of the last.
