DAN Demkiv is the latest Taunton Town player to commit himself to the club for the 2020/21 season.

The 23-year-old striker - who joined from Mangotsfield United in February of this year - is the seventh existing Taunton player to agree terms in recent days, leaving head of football Rob Dray with most positions well covered by 2019/20 squad members staying on, as well as his four new signings.

Goalkeeper Lloyd Irish is set to add to his 359 Peacocks appearances, while Ben Adelsbury (centre-back), Jamie Price (centre-back/full-back) and new addition Aaron Bentley (centre-back/full-back) offer solidity in defence.

Jamie Short and Ross Staley have both agreed to stay, providing versatility as wing-backs or wingers, with new boy Lee Lucas and Luke Spokes (who joined in January) filling midfield and attacking midfield options.

Alongside Demkiv, fellow strikers Gethyn Hill and Toby Holmes are both new additions, taking the places in the squad vacated by the departed Andrew Neal and Matt Wright.

Of last season's regulars, only defender Nick Grimes, midfielder Ollie Chamberlain and attacking midfielder/forward Dan Sullivan are still to have their future confirmed.

Peacocks fans may also see more of Bridgwater & Taunton College prospects like Nathan Byrne, Noah Coppin, Luke Manley and Callum Watts next season.
