SOMERSET spinner Dom Bess chipped in with two wickets as the West Indies were dismissed for 318 on the third day of the first Test at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

Bess made the breakthrough with the opening wicket of the day, having Shai Hope (16) caught by Ben Stokes at slip.

The 22-year-old also accounted for Jermaine Blackwood - this time James Anderson taking the catch at mid-off - to finish the innings with 2-51 from 19 overs, five of which were maidens.

England captain Stokes claimed 4-49 and Anderson 3-62, but with Kraigg Brathwaite hitting 65 and Shane Dowrich 61, the tourists have a first innings lead of 114 runs.
