TAUNTON golfer Tom Sloman notched up his first win since turning professional back in September, ending up 15 under par in the Jamega Tour tournament at Surrey Downs earlier this week, writes Richard Walsh.

During the winter Sloman enjoyed success on the Middle East and North African (MENA) Tour, and was in seventh place with total earnings of $14k before it was called off because of the onset of coronavirus.

However, with the easing of lockdown, Sloman has been competing in the UK-based Jamega and Clutch Tour events, and on Tuesday his dedication was rewarded.

Sloman shot 63 and was tied for second place after the first round.

On Tuesday he maintained his good start and scored a seven-under 64 to end up with a two-shot lead over his nearest rival.

Sloman collects £3,500 from this win and currently occupies second place in the Jamega Tour Order of Merit.
