TAUNTON Town have announced four home pre-season friendly matches, ahead of the start of their 2020/21 Southern League campaign on Saturday, September 19.

The Peacocks will take on Chippenham Town this Friday (September 4), followed by a Bristol City XI on September 7, Yeovil Town on September 11 and Gloucester City (subject to confirmation) on September 15 - all fixtures will kick off at 7pm.

Football Association restrictions on supporter attendances, the capacity for the Chippenham friendly is 300 people, with this rising to 600 for the subsequent three friendlies.

In order to manage crowd numbers, admission to every friendly will be by advance ticket sales only.

The only exception to this is being made for season ticket holders, who must advise the club of their attendance 48 hours before kick-off.

Full details on attending the pre-season games can be found here.

TAUNTON Town FC is to host several of Yeovil Town Women's FA Women's National League (FAWNL) fixtures in the 2020/21 season.

The team have confirmed that they will play their league fixtures at Huish Park, Yeovil, and the Cygnet Health Care Stadium, Taunton.

Yeovil are to kick off their FAWNL Southern Premier Division campaign on Sunday, September 20 with a home match against Portsmouth - but their full fixtures (and venues for them) are to be confirmed.

Taunton Town's ground was the venue for several 'Spring Series' matches back in 2017, including Yeovil's game with serial league winners Arsenal.

Since then, Yeovil have been playing outside of Somerset - at Dorchester Town's Clayson Stadium.

Yeovil WFC owners Adam Murry and Tony McCarthy said: “We believe in showcasing football in Somerset and with the support of both Scott [Priestnall, Yeovil Town FC chairman] and Kevin [Sturmey, Taunton Town FC chairman] we are able to do this in great surroundings that give our club and a platform to go and perform well this season.”

Peacocks chairman Sturmey said: “We really enjoyed hosting Yeovil Women’s WSL fixtures a couple of seasons back and are excited to be able to host them again.”
