TAUNTON footballer Emily Syme made her debut for Sheffield United Women over the weekend in a 3-1 win over Durham in the FA Women's Championship.
Syme who is formerly of Bishops Lydeard Ladies and Richard Huish College, transferred to Sheffield on a season long loan from Aston Villa.
The 21-year-old creative midfielder who can also play in attack was brought in to add extra quality to the Blades' attacking options
Coming through the Somerset FA Centre of Excellence, Syme is a great example of the quality within women's football in the region.
Speaking on the loan move, Syme said she is ready to compete for Sheffield.
"I'm very excited. I've had a bit of a tour, it all looks very good, I'm very excited to be here and I can't wait to get started."
