Somerset won the first semi final on Vitality Blast Finals Day by two wickets against Hampshire Hawks.

The match was a true thriller, with neither side performing incredibly well with the bat, minus a few standout performers.

Ben Green came in clutch late in the Somerset innings but it was Josh Davey who scored the winning runs.

Somerset won the toss and elected to bowl, Hampshire went on to score a sub-par 150, a score that most people thought Somerset would chase down easily.

It was far from easy though for the team from Taunton, who were 34 for 5 in the seventh over.

Somehow Somerset stayed in the game, although at times all seemed lost, Tom Abell and Ben Green did the hard yards. Abell scored 50 and Green 35.

Man of the match was Josh Davey, who took four wickets and then scored the winning runs, what a performance from him.

This loss was Hampshire's six semi-final loss from six attempts for them at Edgbaston, not a good record when you look at it like that, however they were in this game well and truly until the last over.

Somerset now wait to face the victor between Kent Spitfires and Sussex Sharks, the final starts at 6:45pm.
