TAUNTON Town are ready for their two and a half long away trip to Hartley Wintney on Saturday in the Southern League.

The home side currently sit in eighteenth place in the table but Taunton manager Rob Dray believes they are still a tough side.

"They are always a difficult side to play, they have a number of good players who can hurt you," Dray said.

"This league is very competitive, any team can beat any team and you can see that in the results."

Hartley Wintney are coming off the back of a 4-1 home defeat to Beaconsfield Town earlier this week.

Taunton postponed their midweek fixture due to the current fuel shortage impacting their players and staff.

"We will be able to travel this weekend, the fuel situation has eased up a bit from what I can tell," Dray said.

Taunton have had a mixed start to the season having won four, lost three and drawn one of their eight games so far.

They sit in a respectable sixth place in the table but it is certain injuries have been a big issue for the side.

"From our squad of 18, only three of them haven't had any injuries or COVID issues, it has been a real issue for us."

"For this weekend we can welcome back Jared Lewington and also Jake Wannell will play again," Dray said.

Unfortunately it seems tht Liam Foulston is still a few weeks away from pulling on theTown shirt once more.

The match this weekend kicks off at 3pm, but they return to Cygnet Heath Health Care Stadium on Tuesday October 5 for a match against Ashton and Backwell United.
