OAKE Manor and Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Clubs have shared the honours at the Somerset Junior Championship.

At the end of the third and final round of the Somerset South Championship competition that took place at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club on Sunday, both sides were tied on 28 points each and will share the trophy for the year.

Mike Hooper the Somerset Junior Organiser said: “It was a great day at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club and the organisers are very grateful for the way that the course has made everyone feel so welcome.

“It was so good to see all of the juniors and parents, junior organisers, in and around the clubhouse, putting green, all mixing and chatting to each other, from all of the clubs.”

“As expected the day ended in a very close finish, which resulted in Oake and Taunton & Pickeridge sharing the South League Division title with 28 points each, and after chatting to all of the organisers on the day we all felt that was the right thing to share it.

The Somerset Junior Organiser went on: “ This was a great achievement for both sets of juniors their parents and all of the volunteers. They were all a credit to junior golf yesterday all tried hard, and pleased with the outcome.
