Taunton Town 3-1 Hendon
THE Peacocks racked up a very impressive 17th competitive game without defeat when they beat Hendon 3-1 at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium on Saturday afternoon (February 19).
Taunton didn’t have it easy against a Hendon side which kept them on their toes for the 90 minutes.
However the visitors could not prevent a 10th successive Southern League win for the hosts who took the lead after 32 minutes.
Zac Smith’s cross from the right fell to Jay Foulston beyond the far post and his volley found the net despite keeper Ethan Wady getting something on it.
Dan Sullivan was close to doubling the lead two minutes into the second half when his strike smashed off the crossbar but they did find the net on 49 minutes when a Lloyd James corner was flicked on and Jake Wannell nipped in to head home.
Hendon pulled one back after 63 minutes when Will Buse got his hands to a Hamza Semakula strike from the edge of the box but couldn’t keep it out.
But this was all before in-form attacker Ross Stearn stole the show.
