Yeovil Town 0-0 Taunton Town

TAUNTON Town will now host Yeovil Town in an FA Cup replay on Tuesday (October 18) after the two teams drew 0-0 on Saturday (October 15).

In what was a very tense affair on a windy afternoon, neither side could find a breakthrough goal and the spoils were shared.

That being said, it was more of a victory for Taunton Town and they may be disappointed not to have won the match as they had more clear cut chances.

The travelling Taunton fans were loud from start to finish and their support will be needed for the home game now.

Right from the off Taunton took the game to their Somerset rivals Yeovil. Nat Jarvis saw his header go narrowly over the bar in the opening exchanges.

That continued for most of the first half as well, as Ollie Chamberlain, Nick McCootie and Lloyd James all had shots on target.

The best chance of the half and indeed the match came through Ross Stearn. The ball fell to him on the six yard line and he hit the post, should have been a goal.

In the second period Yeovil had calmed the game down a bit and their fitness, being a professional side, came through.

Josh Staunton, Malachi Linton and Pearson all had fairly good chances for the home side.

That didn't stop Taunton though as even as the game went on they were running non-stop and chasing down loose balls.

There was to be no goals this time out, mention to Grant Smith and Jack Bycroft, the two goalkeepers. They were the reason, in part, for the scoreline.

Both sides will be in the hat for the First Round Proper draw on Monday. But whoever they get drawn against will find out who they're playing after these two Somerset sides do battle one more time.

Expect a crowd of over 2,000 on Tuesday night as the Peacocks try to upset their Yeovil counterparts.
