Punters have got a bonus seventh race to look forward to when Taunton host first of two meetings this month on Tuesday afternoon when the action begins gets at 2pm and the final race is at 5pm.

With 68 horses declared all of the leading trainers including Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson, Fergal O’Brien, David Pipe, Kim Bailey, Venetia Williams and Gary Moore have runners, while top jockeys Harry Cobden, Nico de Boinville, Tom O’Brien, Bryony Frost and Charlie Deutsch are all engaged to ride, so another great afternoon of action looks to be in store.

The most valuable race on the card is the Arthur and Peggy White Memorial Handicap Chase (Class Three) over two miles and seven furlongs ar 3pm.

The fancied runners here look likely to be Frenchy Du Large from the Venetia Williams stable or Milan Bridge from the Nicholls yard.

The Going has been updated and is now good to soft-good in places, but with another frost forecast on Monday evening there will be a precautionary inspecition at 8am.

A courtesy coach departs from outside Platform Five of Taunton Railway Station 90 minutes before the opening race, returning from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last.
