TAUNTON Town are on the rise and with games in hand on all the teams around them, there is no reason why the Peacocks can’t set their sights on the top half of the National League South table.
The next big test for that ambition is a trip to Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday, a side currently third in the standings and serious contenders for promotion.
Havant, however, will be very aware of the Taunton threat, as the two sides met at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium just a fortnight ago, and the Peacocks stunned the Hawks with an outstanding 2-0 victory.
Jake McCarthy and Zac Smith struck late on that occasion to earn the maximum points, but it was the overall display that will give Taunton incredible confidence for this weekend.
Havant could not handle the Peacocks and, while they are a top side on their own patch, Taunton will fancy their chances.
