National One Rugby: Taunton Titans 73-18 Hull RFC

TAUNTON Titans were at their best as they put 73 points on their Hull opponents on Saturday at Veritas Park.

It was a dominant performance from the Titans as they managed to score try after try to keep the crowd of 800 plus entertained.

They didn't open the scoring though, as in the fifth minute the visitors went 0-3 up through a penalty. One thing that can be criticised of the Titan's game was they let up too many penalties.

Despite that, it didn't take long for them to get in front. Isaac Dalton scored for Taunton in the 11th minute under the posts. George Warboys converted and it was 7-3.

Jordan Petherbridge was the next Titan to cross for a try after a great run from Immanuel Feyi-Wabosa set him up. Again, Warboys converted and it was 14-3.

Dalton ran in again under the posts shortly after and it too was converted as Taunton were in the driving seat, 21-3.

It was complete domination from Taunton and in the 21st minute Feyi-Wabosa jinked his way through the whole Hull defence for a fantastic solo try. This time the conversion was missed, but the score was 26-3.

Hull managed to get their first try in the minutes that followed, against the run of play really, 26-8.

Captain on the day, Charlie Wright was next to score for Taunton when he pushed over through the middle which was converted by Warboys for 33-8.

Before the end of the half Hull scored once again just to remind Taunton to stay on their guard. At the break it was 33-13.

In the second half, the first score came in the 50th minute, when from a Taunton line out, the forward line worked their way over to score.

That was all after a scuffle which saw two yellow cards, one for each side. The game was rather feisty from this point on.

In the 54th minute Taunton scored again through Connor Bates this time and the score was 45-13.

Wright picked up his second try of the afternoon in the 58th minute, this one much the same to his first half score. Warboys converted to make it 52-13.

In the 66th minute a good drive forward saw George Warboys side step and jerk his way through the defence with ease to score under the post. He converted his own try and the score was 59-13.

Still with plenty of time, Taunton pushed on again and Shai Bonnick crossed in the corner on 69th minute to really confirm the score line. Converted once again by Warboys for 66-13.

The Hull winger was able to show some pride late on as he ran through the Taunton defence scoring a very impressive solo try.

However, man of the match George Warboys crossed again for Taunton for the last try of the match. He was once again set up by Feyi-Wabosa, the two showing a strong partnership together.

The final try was converted by George for a final score of 73-18. A brilliant showing from the Titans.
