National League South: Taunton Town 1-2 Eastborne Borough
DESPITE going in at half time one goal in front, Taunton Town were beaten at home on Tuesday night after Eastbourne came back in the second half.
It was a disappointing outcome to the Vanarama National League South game after Town had looked fairly comfortable at the break holding a 1-0 advantage after Ollie Chamberlain had fired home Nick McCootie’s cross on 13 minutes.
However the home side failed to build on this in the second half as Borough upped their game, drawing level just three minutes in when Luke Pearce curled in a shot from 20 yards which found the far corner.
Pearce then put the visitors in front after 65 minutes when he scored his second of the night, drilling home after the ball fell to him in the box.
The Peacocks nearly equalised five minutes from time when Jake Wannell’s header hit the crossbar, but it wasn’t enough as they slipped to a second successive home League defeat for the first time since September 2014.
