THE Peacocks were well beaten on Tuesday night at home against Hampton & Richmond Borough, much to the disappointment of manager Rob Dray.

He said after the match, it wasn't good enough from his side.

"I am disappointed not to take how we played on Saturday into this match.

"There was too much indecisiveness from us, they did better than us and credit to them for coming down here and showed an awful lot of desire.

"We gifted them some goals, we need to stop doing that, it is really uncharacteristic from us. We need to be better in that respect."

Dray said his need to play well for the whole match rather than chasing.

"We play well for 10 or fifteen minutes here and there, but then switch to not playing well.

"We make a fist of it for the last ten minutes at three one down, but that is not where we want to be. We are making things harder for ourselves."

It seems more recently teams have a better understanding of how Taunton play.

Dray said: "Teams understand us better now but we have to deal with that.

"National League South isn't for everybody, it is a tough, tough division. You have to deal with it.

"We need to have character and grit, determination, all those thngs that get you over the line and keep you in the division."

On player fitness, Dray confirmed Ross Stearn is not 100%.

He said: "Ross has been dealing with a problem on his eye, he wasn't ready to play in this match but hoping he can be back on Saturday.

"Our squad should all be ready and fit for Saturday."

Looking forward Dray thinks every match will be a war.

"There is 16 wars to go now, that is what it is going to be. We have no more 3G's to play on, pitches are going to broken up, that's what it is in March and April, it is going to be pretty ugly.

"We have got to come to the party on Saturday. We need to do all the basics and fundamentals well, we did it last Saturday and we can do it again this weekend.

"If we do that, we can win the game. There is no hiding place."
