Chippenham Town 3-1 Taunton Town

THE Peacocks dropped closer to the Vanarama National League South relegation zone after they were beaten 3-1 at Chippenham Town on Tuesday.

The visitors took a 13th minute lead when Ross Stearn turned onto Jake Wannell’s pass to steer past Will Henry but it proved a false dawn.

Home pressure paid off when Chippenham equalised on 36 minutes through Will Richards who netted from a corner which then saw the hosts go on to dominate and score two more after the break.

Matt McClure drilled home from the edge of the box on 52 minutes and Craig Fasanmade got clear down the left before firing past Jack Bycroft after 66 minutes.

Dylan Morgan hit the post for the Peacocks towards the end but they can have no arguments on the night after a disappointing second half showing ended in defeat.

Taunton are at home this weekend when they host Hemel Hempstead Town at 3pm.
