National League South: Braintree Town 0-2 Taunton Town
A SUPERB display from the Peacocks saw them triumph 2-0 at Braintree Town in the Vanarama National League South on Saturday.
The damage was done in the first half when Town scored both their goals, opening the scoring after just nine minutes when Ollie Chamberlain’s cross found Nat Jarvis whose header was parried by Iron keeper Jack Sims and Zac Smith nodded the loose ball over the line.
It got even better on 31 minutes when the Peacocks doubled their haul, a lovely link-up between Smith and Dylan Morgan down the left seeing Morgan’s centre being slotted home by Chamberlain.
Facing the wind Town dug in during the second half but were rarely threatened as another solid defensive display ensured a fully deserved second consecutive win on the road whilst ending play-off chasing Braintree’s unbeaten home record in the League for this season.
