National League South: Bath City 0-2 Taunton Town

The Peacocks took another massive step towards securing their Vanarama National League South status with a terrific 2-0 victory at Bath City on Good Friday.

And what a Friday it was. Taunton were deserved winners in this match despite a tricky first half.

Bath perhaps had the better of chances in the first period but Taunton's defence were at their best.

After a goalless first half, the second period began to open up more as players tired in the sunshine.

It was Taunton who began to press higher up the pitch and substitutes Nick McCootie and Dylan Morgan made a difference.

Town finally broke the deadlock on 76 minutes when a spell of pressure ended with Dave Sims-Burgess hooking the ball down and Cameron Evans firing home from close range.

Substitute Dylan Morgan doubled the lead eight minutes from time, his shot from 16 yards beating City keeper Max Harris to find the bottom corner.

The visitors defence remained in control throughout to ensure a well-earned three points and a step up to 16th in the table.
