National League South: Taunton Town 1-3 Weymouth

TAUNTON Town concluded their home fixtures in the Vanarama National League South with a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Weymouth on Tuesday evening.

Town never really got into their stride against a Terras side needing to win to give themselves any hope of avoiding relegation.

The visitors made an ideal start when Ahkeem Rose fired them ahead after six minutes following a break down the right.

Bradley Ash profited from some defensive sloppiness to double Weymouth’s lead after 20 minutes before the Peacocks pulled a goal back four minutes later when Dylan Morgan shot home from the edge of the box after a Lee Lucas free kick had been cleared.

Town could not maintain their impetus after the break and it was Weymouth who had the better of it.

They sealed a deserved victory on the night after 73 minutes when a Tom Blair run found Tom Bearwish who slotted over the line from close range.

The Peacocks now regroup for one final time as they prepare for Saturday’s trip to Chelmsford City.
