TAUNTON Vivary Bowling Club is holding an Open Day on Saturday, May 27 to welcome new bowlers and anyone interested in just giving the sport a try.
Coaches will be on hand to give advice, if wanted, or you can just give it a go.
The club has said: "Come along to the club between 11.00am and 4.00pm on Saturday 27.
"You will get a warm welcome, the bar will be open – and you get a chance to start a new activity in the sunshine!"
The season had started last week for the men’s A team, with a loss away at Street, but they followed up last Saturday with a win away at Ilminster B, by 62 v 55 for 8 points.
Meanwhile, the B team were losing a home match against South Petherton by the narrowest of margins, 1 shot.
Dick Bridgeman’s rink won 23 v 22, Alec Berry drew 18 v 18, but Dennis Buckingham went down by 18 v 20, leaving an overall score of 59 v 60, for 3 points.
The C team began their season with an away win at Minehead, by 60 v 44, for 10 points.
