On Saturday, results were also mixed. The A team lost away at Purnell by 47 v 59, gaining just 2 points for one winning rink, and the C team lost too, away at Yeovil C, but only by 2 shots, 55 v 57, in spite of winning on two rinks.
The B team had a good result at home to Eastover Park, winning by 62 v 55 for 10 points. Harry Scragg’s rink went down by 14 v 26, but Dennis Buckingham had a strong win by 32 v 14, and Dick Bridgeman secured the other winning rink points by 16 v 15.
