THERE were two convincing victories in Thursday’s WSBL matches for Taunton Vivary Bowl Club’s A and C teams.
The C team won on all rinks for the full 12 points in an away match at Eastover B, with an overall score of 60 v 39.
The A team had a very similar result, winning by 62 v 39 for the 12 points, but sadly this was against the Vivary B team, so mixed feelings at the club this week.
There was no match for Vivary’s A team on Saturday, because several of their players were involved in the successful County Middleton Cup team.
The B and C teams were both at home, and secured convincing victories. The C team won on all rinks to score 12 points in a 82 v 31 win over Minehead.
The B team dropped one point for a drawn rink, but the 11 points were enough to keep them on top of their division.
Dennis Buckingham’s rink won 22 v 13, Harry Scragg 17 v 12, Dick Bridgeman 18 v 18.
