TAUNTON Deane BC Ladies had an excellent win on Saturday in the quarter final of the county Southey Trophy against St Andrews (WSM).
Winning two disciplines each, the points were tied but Taunton Deane took the overall win by 68 shots to 60.
In previous rounds Taunton Deane had beaten Mark Moor, Winscombe and Ashcombe and will now face Portishead RBL in the semi final.
In other County competitions Helen Acreman and Tony Foxwell have now reached the semi finals of the mixed pairs after success in the quarter finals against a pair from St Andrews.
Stacey Nalbandian has reached the last sixteen in Bowls England Women's Champion of Champions competition. After winning the Somerset Area Final 23-10 against Stef Branfield of Clevedon she beat Lindsay Collin of Gloucestershire 21-20 in a nail biting finish.
She will now play in the National Finals to be held at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th August.
