North Petherton CC 145 / 3 (29.3) def. Taunton CC - 1st XI 141 / All out (41.5)
TAUNTON Cricket Club's difficult season continued at the weekend when they were beaten by North Petherton CC away from home.
The winning margin for the home side was seven wickets as they were too good for Taunton.
That result now leaves Taunton CC in eighth place in the WEPL Somerset table, while Petherton are in sixth.
In the match, North Petherton won the toss and chose to field first, giving Taunton a chance to shine with the bat.
James Salaman top scored with 42 runs opening the bat, but wickets fell cheaply around him and after 41.5 overs the visitors were all out.
In reply, Mondli Khumalo scored 73 as North Petherton raced to the target inside 30 overs for only three wickets lost.
Henry Weatherill had the best bowling figures for Taunton with one wicket for 28 runs.
Up next for Taunton CC is a home match against Wembdon CC- 1st XI on Saturday, August 12.
