TAUNTON & Pickeridge Golf Club was a busy place to be last weekend during the rearranged 31st Anniversary Pro-Am.
T&P Head Professional, Jason Avery, took full advantage of his local knowledge to shoot a five under par 64 to win the Professional’s prize by one shot from Martyn Thompson (Ferndown Forest Golf Club).
Ashley Mansell, winner for the previous two years, finished in third place on two under par and former T&P Head Professional, Gary Milne, was fourth on one under par. Together with his three Amateur playing partners, Gary won the team prize with a score of 91 points.
The team competition was won by Gary Milne (Woodbury Park), Warren Bailey, Archie Leather and Spencer Leach with 91 points.
Second place went to Matt Turner (Long Ashton), George Lee, Richard Bryant and Wayne Winmill with 88 points on countback from Harry Crean (Boringdon), Bryan Southward, Neil Shattock and Arthur Sinclair.
The Pro-Am contributed over £2600 towards Club Captain, Kevin Jackson’s, and Ladies’ Captain, Georgia Richards’, fundraising efforts for locally based Green Days Day Care which provides personal care for adults with learning difficulties.
The T&P Club Championships took place over last weekend at the end of which the winner of the Senior Club Championship Nett was Georgia Richards with 66, on countback from David Parker.
The Senior Club Championship Gross was won by David Parker with 75 on countback from Craig McGown.
The Junior Club Championship Nett was won by Finley Pyke with 139, while the Junior Club Championship Gross was won by Ben Newman with 149.
Deborah Goodman won the Ladies’ Club Championship Bronze Gross Trophy with 195, while the Ladies’ Club Championship Nett was won by Roz Pocklington with 146. The Ladies’ Club Championship Gross was won Helen Hayward with 160.
The Club Championship Nett was won by Bryan Southward with 138 on countback from David Parker, while the Club Championship Gross was won by Josh Stancer with 140.
