TAUNTON Deane Bowls Club men have had a very successful outdoor season in the Exeter and Devon Over 60s League.
The Taunton Deane Eagles won Division 7 and were unbeaten for the season, the only team in all 8 Divisions to achieve this feat.
The Taunton Deane Falcons came second in Division 8 and will be promoted for next season. The club has done very well considering that they only joined the league in the 2022 season.
The friendly outdoor matches also had a very positive outcome this season with the Deane winning 8 out of the 10 games completed.
The Taunton Deane ladies also had a successful outdoor season reaching the final of the County Southey Trophy Competition.
The ladies won 5 rounds to reach the final against Ilminster which was played at Chew Stoke.
A very wet rink made conditions tricky to start with and, when heavy rain started , they deteriorated quickly. The match concluded after 11 ends with a win for Ilminster.
Outdoor Ladies Captain, Ann Beale, received the Southey Plate for Taunton Deane as Runners Up.
