TWO Somerset cricketers have been selected in the IG PCA Men's Team of the Year for 2023.
Overseas bowler Matt Henry and young wicket keeper James Rew were both selected in the squad.
The team has been selected by the PCA Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by Argentex, to provide the best statistical XI from this season’s domestic men’s cricket.
The team was officially confirmed on Monday September 25th and sees Liam Dawson captain as he sat top of the domestic MVP with an imposing 617 MVP points.
Rew made the team on the back of 281 MVP points, 1,080 First-Class runs and six hundreds across all formats.
Matt Henry was included after getting 425 MVP points, being the leading bowler with 336 bowling points, leading Vitality Blast wicket-taker and a total of 32 wickets in County Championship at 16.18.

Their side contains three faces from last year’s team in Sam Cook, James Vince and Simon Harmer, who incredibly makes the team for the fifth successive year.
Middlesex’s Ryan Higgins and Durham’s Alex Lees make the side following brilliant seasons and are also nominated for the cinch PCA Men’s Player of the Year award.
