TAUNTON Town's winless run in the National League South grew to ten matches after their 0-0 draw at home on Tuesday against Truro City.

In all competitions, it means Taunton has now has just one win in their last twenty fixtures.

Currently they sit in 20th place in the league on 33 points, just five clear of the relegation zone, however they do still have two games in hand.

Speaking after the match on Tuesday, head of football Rob Dray said: "Both teams did extremely well considering the conditions and the referee did well in finishing the game. I don't think I've ever seen it so bad down here to be honest.

"It was very difficult, first half I thought we were the better side with the wind but we probably needed to penetrate more and put more balls in the box.

"Second half they had more pressure and territory and our back three were outstanding, everyone did, we are absolutely on their knees those boys."

He remained optimistic that the teams fortunes will change if they keep playing the way they have been with grit and determination.

"Something is going to drop for us in a minute, the footballing gods will smile at you if you keep doing the right things at the right times," he said.

"Last two games we've put in two big shifts, two big points, two clean sheets, for where we are at the moment, so we are pleased."

Looking forward, Dray said it is all about putting more points on the table as they are all vital.

"For where we are at the moment, on and off the pitch, it was a good point. Getting points are important, we still have 18 games to go," he said.

"We had a total reset after losing so many players in a short space of time, these lads have been absolutely fantastic and have done the club incredibly proud so far, and they will continue to do so."

He added that he and the coaching staff are remaining positive off the pitch to continue their drive to avoid relegation.

"We have to be positive, we are incredibly positive around the lads and in the changing rooms, and that is the way it has got to be at the moment," he said.

"We're trying to build again, some momentum and resilience, all the little things that help you win football matches, and we are getting there."
