TAUNTON Town Football Club has confirmed that chairman Kevin Sturmey is 'off sick' at the moment and won't return for the foreseeable future.
A club spokesperson confirmed the news to the County Gazette earlier today (February 13).
They said: "Kevin (Sturmey) is off sick for the foreseeable future and no further comment will be made at this time."
When asked who will be covering the many roles Sturmey has as chairman and ground staff, the club said: "Karl Lindsay, football operations manager, will be covering as much as he can."
Speaking in January 2024, Sturmey discussed the recent stresses and pressures within the football club.
He said: "We are a small club in the National League South, no doubt about that, and all of us here are always trying to do what is best for the club.
"It is a tough period, on and off the pitch, we would of course want to see some improved results in the coming weeks and for the rest of the season."
