TAUNTON Town FC's game against Maidstone United set to take place tomorrow (Saturday, February 17) has been called off because of recent heavy rain.

A spokesperson for the club said: "Tomorrow's match with Maidstone United has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch following a pitch inspection.

"A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course."

Earlier this week, on Tuesday, February 13, Taunton's match against Torquay United in the National League South was postponed for the same reason.

The news comes after the Peacocks announced a new groundshare deal with Truro City, which will see the Cornish side play the remainder of their home games in Somerset.

For the rest of the 2023-24 National League South season, Truro's home ground will be Wordsworth Drive.

Taunton Town's statement said: "This short-term agreement will facilitate Truro in fulfilling their home programme whilst also providing local football fans with the opportunity to sample more National League action, with the White Tigers still having to entertain the likes of Torquay United, Yeovil Town and Weymouth."
