From their opening five games, Somerset remain unbeaten, although four of those fixtures did end in draws. They still sit third in the table behind leaders Surrey and Essex, while Kent are third from bottom.

Somerset Disabled Cricket Club opened their campaign in the Southwest D40 League with a fine victory over Gloucestershire. Jack Smith and Jacob Lunn held the Somerset innings together but they were still dismissed for 114.

While it felt like a low total, the tricky nature of the pitch was borne out in the Gloucestershire reply, with Cameron Smith and Jack Smith removing their openers. Superb fielding and tight bowling eventually led to a 30-run victory for Somerset.
