TAUNTON U14s put on a superb performance against Yeovil to be crowned Somerset County District Schools Champions.
Both teams have fiercely contested this competition for the past two seasons with evenly matched games.
Yeovil began strong, opening the scoring after 15 minutes.
Taunton, however, resiliently replied.
A corner from Mitch Kearley was met by captain Marcel Pierzchlewicz who headed past Yeovil's keeper, evening the score 1-1.
The match remained fairly evenly matched until Taunton's winger Oli Elsworthy scored remarkably to take the lead.
While Yeovil managed to threaten the goal a few more times, Taunton's defence held strong.
In the second half, both sides struggled to gain the upper hand.
The midfield saw heavy contention from Ferran McAdams and Kearley with Boron and Sherring also making an appearance.
Rafe McDonough and Tom Richards spearheaded Taunton's attacking front, causing significant trouble for Yeovil's defence.
McDonough turned provider for Elsworthy, who scored his second goal and the team's third to lead proceedings 3-1.
Showing immense teamwork and energy, Taunton worked hard to add to the score and they did through Eddie Scarrot.
A final triumphant team goal rounded off the game at 5-1.
It started with a defence-to-attack transition with Jack Collins and then Elsworthy who provided a splendid cross for Kearley to volley home.
Overall, it was a well-fought victory that truly encapsulated the team's strong desire and determination to win.
It's evident everyone on the team played their part.
