TAUNTON Town have unveiled new manager Richard Luffman's first two signings.

On Monday, the Peacocks confirmed that striker Archie Ferris has joined from Southern League Division One South side Larkhall Athletic, where he bagged 22 goals as their top goalscorer.

Before joining the Bath club last summer, he spent eight years with Clevedon Town after joining The Seasiders from the North Somerset Football Development side.

He made a total of 203 appearances for Clevedon and scored 57 goals in a spell that saw him named club captain in 2021.

Archie told Taunton's media team: “I’m really excited to be given the opportunity to represent such a big, great club.

“Hopefully, I can score goals, excite fans, win games and push this club back up where it belongs.

“Being local and playing against Taunton before means knowing how much it means to the fans, and I will be one who will give everything for every game. I’m looking forward to it.”

Ferris has been joined at Wordsworth Drive by fellow forward David Duru, who joins from Luffman's old club, Cribbs FC.

Last season, Duru scored 14 goals in the Southern League Division One South and a further seven in all competitions to top their scoring charts.

“Taunton is a big club with big history and a fantastic fan base,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to making the step up and show I can deliver at a this level.”
