Table tennis is believed to have been first played in England late in the 19th century as an indoor alternative to tennis and badminton.
Here the Wells Table Tennis Club was founded only in 2017 but has quickly achieved success, winning the Bridgwater Development League and playing in Division One of the league itself for two years.
Now they are looking to expand with additional members, with players of all abilities welcome.
Whether you are a claw-grip pro or have never picked up the small wooden paddle, if you are interested in getting involved with the club get in touch with Paul Hambleton on 07792 766994.
Playing table tennis increases fitness, sharpens mental ability and is great fun, says Paul.
The club is based at Seager Hall on Union Street, Wells and open 6.30-8.30pm on Wednesdays.
