Batsman George Thomas scored his maiden century in List A cricket on Friday (August 2) as Somerset secured a win against Lancashire in the Metro Bank Cup.
It was Somerset's third victory in four Group A games and George Thomas said he was delighted to be able to 'smash' Lancashire.
He said: "There is only one thing better than being Lancs and that is smashing Lancs. It was a very good day for us.
“My strength is against seam bowling and they had two good spinners, so I tried to cash in at the start and give myself a head start.
“We bowled unbelievably well on what we felt was a flat pitch. The odd ball turned, but otherwise it was good for batting, so we were very confident at halfway.
“Kasey Aldridge was outstanding with the ball, but before him Alfie Ogborne and Jack Leach had bowled really well.
“When James Rew hit the winning runs I felt a few goosebumps. I grew up playing with James and there was no one I would have preferred to be out there with me sharing that partnership.”
