Taunton St Andrews are through to the Somerset Cricket Foundation Club Competition Under 19 Final after they beat Ilminster by three wickets at Uphill Castle on Sunday.

After being put in Ilminster posted 143 for five from their 20 overs, of which Lachlan Rice come in first wicket down contributed 51 from 47 balls, with eight fours, and Tom Sainsbury hit an unbeaten 23 off just nine balls with three fours and a six.

For the Saints both Jago Barclay and Shourya Raj took two wickets apiece.

When the Saints replied they looked to be in trouble at 38 for four before Raj and Barclay took the score onto 72 before the latter was out for eight.

Raj then added 28 for the sixth wicket with Marcus Sapiecha before he was out for 38 off 23 deliveries with two fours and four sixes. Sapiecha then stayed at the crease to see Saints to 144 in the 18th over, by which time he was not out  for a run a ball 27 with five fours while Bradley Fawcett was unbeaten on 12. Hugh Moore was the pic of the bowlers taking two for 28.

Saints now face West super Mare in the Under 19 Final at a date to be announced after the rain put paid to the match that was due to be played later on Sunday.

Saints Under 16s came unstuck when they were beaten by Bridgwater by three wickets in the final of the Somerset Under 16 Smash at Weston super Mare also on Sunday.

After opting to bat Saints were all out for 124 from their 100 balls, Jago Barclay who opened the innings scoring 38 off 34 balls, Henry Mason-Wilshaw hitting 26 and Danny Woolcott 16. 

The Bridgwater bowlers doing the damage were  Sammi Rollinson who took four for 18 while Brody Brigden claimed three for 17.

When Bridgwater responded they  made 126 for seven off 94 balls of which Luca Gregory hit 52 off 42 balls with eight fours, and opener Charlie Lamprilll made 16.

Barclay was the pick of the Saints bowlers  claiming four for 18 while Woolcott took two for 31.

Saints First XI were at home to Potterne in Premier One of the WEPl who batting first posted 236 for seven, Toby Williams-Thomas taking two for 36.In reply the hosts were all out for 178 off 38 overs, Thomas Rew hitting 67 off 55 balls with eight fours and four fours, George Thomas made 32 and Jack Harding 20.

Saints A XI travelled to play at Churchill in Division Four of the Somerset Cricket League where batting first the visitors made 218 for eight, thanks to 46 from Danny Woolcott, 30 from Marcus Sapiecha, 29 from Steve Jenkins and 26 from opener Theo Bennett.

Churchill in reply were all out for 84 in 20.1 overs Ben Walford taking three wickets for eight runs.

Saints B XI were at home to North Curry in Division Seven where batting first the hosts made 159 for eight of which Clint Harding made 85 off 88 balls with 12 fours and Nigel Contreras 40. For the visitors William Cartwright took four for 17.

North Curry in reply reached 161 for one in 21.2 overs, opener Eulian Roberts hitting 90 off 73 balls with 16 fours while Rory Collett remained unbeaten on 34.
