A warm sunny afternoon ideal for rugby greeted Taunton in this eagerly awaited clash with equally ambitious Camborne, writes Hugh Duder.
The hosts made a blistering start, scoring out wide and converted 7-0.
A forward pass denied Prowse a certain score and that luck evaporated and Camborne got a fortunate bounce for their second try 12-0.
Their third try came after a catch and maul 17-0.
Titans responded in the same manor to make it 17-7.
Hooker Elvis Taione touching down, converted by Louie Sinclair.
A decent break Jo Toogood led to a penalty closing the gap to 17-10 with only 17 minutes played.
Cambourne were next on the scoreboard, their centres breaking through a determined defence to increase their lead to 24-10.
A further penalty for Titans 24-13.
They were then on the back foot from the resulting kick off and succumbed to a further try 31-13.
Former Cornish Pirate Kyle Moyle then converted his own try and Titans 38-13 down facing opposition who were playing with relentless intensity.
A yellow card for Taunton who did not help themselves, conceding numerous penalties.
That followed an electrifying try by Josh Matevisi, the Fijian international who is 6 foot 2 and 19 stone and was born in Camborn (47 caps and 2 world cups).43-13.
The hosts were now making life uncomfortable for the Titans and another huge penalty to touch by Metevisi led to a further score. 48-13 half time.
First blood after the break was scored by another ex-Cornish pirate recruited by Cambourne prop Jack Andrew followed by hooker Ben Priddey for his fourth.
Try of the day came courtesy of Rocky Prowse who ran from his own 22 zig-zagging his way to the try line. 58-20.
Eight minutes later Prowse scored his second, ably assisted by Nick Mason. 58-25.
This was an extremely physical game and Titans came up against possibly the strongest opposition in this league but game as good as they got.
They will now look to put a run of wins together starting with the visit of Bournville on Saturday. 3pm kick off.
