Southern League Premier South: Weymouth 2-0 Taunton Town
Taunton Town returned to action after a 10-day break with a defeat at the hands of Weymouth on Tuesday (November 18) night.
The Peacocks have been without a game since their home defeat against Gosport Borough on November 8 and could not improve on that result on Tuesday night.
There were three changes to the starting XI for Taunton Town from that game 10 days beforehand as Max Hill made his debut after signing from Helston Athletic. Nat Williams and Josh Owers also came into the team as Niall Thompson, Nick Grimes and Bailey Croome all dropped out.
The hosts, managed by former Premier League striker Steve Claridge, made the faster start to the game and the first attempt on goal in the match was theirs as Matt Burrows dragged wide.

Four minutes later a confident-looking Owen Brain had a chance from the Taunton left-hand side, but his effort was over the bar.
Brain got a bit closer on 15 minutes as he rattled the woodwork.
But just as Taunton Town were getting on top, Weymouth hit them with a sucker-punch as Brandon Goodship is allowed space on the right and his cross is met by Burrows inside the box.
On 25 minutes, Jamie Richards had a header which forced the Weymouth goalkeeper into a save, but the offside flag was raised.
As half time loomed, Josh Owers had a powerful effort which went just wide but the score remained 1-0 at half time.
The second half started with another chance for Brain which forced a corner for the Peacocks which was eventually cleared.
Just after the hour mark, Weymouth had another chance for the hosts but dragged his shot wide.
Manager Richard Luffman rung the changes as Jack Rice and a returning Jayden Nielsen were brought on but it was Weymouth who were now having the chances and Phillips had to produce a save on 70 minutes to prevent the lead being extended.
As the match entered the last 15 minutes, Owen Brain had another shot which failed to find the target.
A free kick on the edge of the box on 80 minutes saw Matt Carson’s attempt well saved.
In stoppage time though, Weymouth added a second goal as Phillips was beaten from distance.
Taunton Town now find themselves closer to the bottom end of the table than the play offs and are just three points clear of the drop zone after 16 games.
