Taunton Town confirm month loan signing of Tom English

Highly-rated Bristol Rovers full back Tom English has signed a one-month loan deal with Taunton Town.

English made his competitive debut for the Gas, coming on as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur U21s in August. He has also been named amongst the substitutes for Rovers’ last two matches.

He made steady progress within the academy and through the age groups, resulting in his being named U18s captain for the 2025/26 season.

English could have been in line for a debut against Hungerford Town at the weekend before the match was called off.

Taunton Town have also announced that goalkeeper Louis Smith has signed for the club on a dual registration deal with his currently club Bridgwater United.

He might have been included in the squad for the game at Hungerford, but for the postponement. Smith has a been a regular started for the Robins in Western League Premier Division.
